First of the emails Camp Venice sent to the the residents. Consider that the homeowners were absolutely devastated to read only a day before in a Sarasota Herald-Tribune article that the mobile home park they lived in for decades had been sold to Sarasota County. Notice the "Dear Campers" salutation...intentionally downplaying that we are permanent residents?

Now remember, if anyone called the office, we were told that the sale was "gossip" and "misinformation." If you emailed Camp Venice, There was never a reply. NO HELP or communication ever from the owner or staff of Camp Venice. If you called the County, they just told you how thrilled they are at conserving the area. We were just mentally and emotionally tortured. Most all of us are over 60, with one a 93 year-old retired doctor who live here for 19 years.

Residents of Camp Venice RV Resort, holding valid 2025 leases expiring December 31, were stunned to receive an email from park owner Robert Kurens on August 5, 2025, declaring the park’s closure. This latest email is just one in a series of emails sent to residents that according to interviews with the residents, scared them into selling their homes for pennies on the dollar to low-ballers that entered the park A couple of residents signed the title over to Robert Kurnes
